Ristorante Rodrigo (Italian) – Review – Bologna, Italy (9/10)

January 7, 2008 by Helen Yuet Ling Pang

I HAVE MOVED MY BLOG TO WWW.WORLDFOODIEGUIDE.COM. CLICK HERE TO READ THE REST OF THIS POST. IT’S EASIER TO NAVIGATE THE NEW BLOG, WHICH HAS MORE CONTENT AND PHOTOS. THANKS! HELEN YUET LING PANG

There was no question about Rodrigo not making it to the Bologna restaurant shortlist when I did my research about two months ago. My father-in-law loves this restaurant and still reminisces about the mashed potato with Parmesan that he had – so simple and satisfying. My husband had also planned to go there with his friend on his last eating trip to Bologna, but missed the reservation because of a delayed train. So we were determined to visit it this time, and booked a month in advance.

It was a really nice meal guys (Vic, you should go!). Husband is now so obsessed with truffles, he’s just sent me a link to a site called whitetrufflesauctions.com or something like that…Helen Yuet Ling

T minus 3 days and counting and I’ve made reservations for Rodrigo in the hope that the tartufo bianco season would magically extend for a few more weeks to the end of January. It might be wishful thinking (anyone know?) to hope for truffles late in the season but, in any event, I’m sure they will have something in the menu to make it worthwhile. I’ll let you know how it goes!

I don’t know the answer to your question, but you never know! Husband thinks you might be alright though. Let me know if you’re successful! Just had a lovely lunch with porcini mushrooms that we brought back from Tamburini (on Via Caprarie). Don’t forget to go there and pick up some food souvenirs to remind you of your trip…I look forward to hearing all about your meals! Helen Yuet Ling
